New Challenges and New Languages

A core Wheelbase feature populated the database with thousands of entries and took up to two minutes. After finding the problem in the FastAPI/Python backend, the same process dropped to about 5–25 seconds depending on volume, from 500 to 5,000 cars.

That was the prompt to learn Go as a potential backend language for Wheelbase. I took the Google Go Programming Specialization. Performance work has a way of making you honest about the runtime you chose.
